Meet Sifu Malia Cropper

With 30 years of experience in Kajukenbo Chuan Fa and the rank of 5th Degree Black Belt, she is known not only for her accomplishments in martial arts but for the lasting impact she leaves on every student who enters her school.

Sifu Malia's martial arts journey began long before she could train on her own. She was raised in a dojo operated by her parents, her father, a Grandmaster and lifelong instructor, and her mother, a 3rd Degree Black Belt and Kajukenbo historian, who together instilled the foundation of discipline, structure, and respect that would shape her life.
Growing up in that environment, Malia was not just another student; she was the little girl sitting at the front of the dojo, observing every movement, lesson, and example of leadership around her. The dojo was not only where she trained-it was where she grew up, learned responsibility, and absorbed the values that would define her character.

What sets Sifu Malia apart is not only what she has achieved but what she has overcome. After enduring multiple serious injuries, including a major spinal injury that nearly ended her career, she refused to quit. Through relentless determination and an unbreakable mindset, she fought her way back to competition and returned to winning at the highest levels. That resilience has become one of the most important lessons she now passes on to her students: setbacks do not define a person; how they rise does.

Malia represents the United States Martial Arts Team and serves as both coach and competitor for Team Pacific Reign. She has earned countless Grand Championship titles and holds the distinction of being a two-time World Champion as both an Emperado KSDI (Kajukenbo Self Defense Institute) World Champion and a WMAG (World Martial Arts Games) Gold Medalist. In 2017, her achievements and influence were recognized with induction into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

Across multiple martial arts schools and communities, she has become affectionately known simply as "Auntie"— a title earned through years of mentorship, loyalty, and unwavering support. That nickname reflects the trust, guidance, and care she consistently brings to the next generation of martial artists.

Known for her leadership, intensity, and fierce dedication both in and out of competition, she leads from the front and encourages others to push through adversity. Her presence in the martial arts community is defined not just by skill, but by the lasting relationships she builds and the steady support she offers her students.
